We’ve been through a tough couple years as a country. People are feeling prices that are far too high at the gas pump, the grocery store, and the pharmacy. Lowering costs for hardworking Pennsylvanians is my top priority. We’ve taken great steps to strengthen our economy over the past few years, but I know that Pennsylvanians are still hurting. Now is the time to protect our workers, support our small business community, and build an economy that works for everyone.
I am 100% dedicated to stabilizing our economy by lowering costs, encouraging job growth, and investing in infrastructure.
Here is what I will continue to do as your Congresswoman:
● Lower costs and fight inflation. Since day one, my top priority in Congress has been cutting costs for hard working Pennsylvanians. I successfully fought to make health insurance more affordable, cap the price of insulin at $35 a month and bring down the cost of other prescription drugs. I have been a consistent and proven advocate for bringing manufacturing jobs back to America and supporting historic Lehigh Valley manufacturing industries. In Congress, I introduced legislation that will make sure our supply chains are strong, stable, and secure while strengthening the U.S. economy, lowering inflation, and protecting our national security. I am also supportive of the effort to fight “shrinkflation”, hold corporations accountable, and protect consumers from price-gouging.
● Strengthen our infrastructure. When we invest in infrastructure, it’s an investment in our people, too — promoting economic growth while creating new construction and manufacturing jobs for Pennsylvanians. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which I fought to pass, is delivering: the law is estimated to add two million good jobs to our economy each year over the next decade, boost our climate resilience, and ensure that our businesses have the tools they need to Make It In America. I have secured numerous grants to help bolster infrastructure investments in the Lehigh Valley, strengthen historic industries, and create new jobs. I have also been a consistent advocate for the renewal of the Affordable Connectivity Program, a necessity that so many families across our district came to rely on before Republican leadership allowed it to expire. Promoting rural broadband doesn’t only provide an essential service to all Lehigh Valley communities––it also creates hundreds of jobs. We can only stay on the cutting edge of the 21st century economy if we have the technology to support it, which is why I strongly support expanding broadband access to our rural and urban communities.
● Support small businesses. Small businesses are the backbone of our community, and I’m proud to stand with small business owners across the Greater Lehigh Valley. In Congress, I have fought to get our businesses the support that they need. From the American Rescue Plan, which provided critical economic relief to millions of small businesses across the country, to increased funding for the Paycheck Protection Program and Economic Injury Disaster Loan program, I have and will continue working to ensure our businesses have the support they need to to grow and succeed.
